ASA StayAtHome

Admission Appeals and Coronavirus (Covid-19) update

School is currently closed for most pupils, until further notice and the government is advising us all to stay at home as far as possible. We understand that parents’ admission appeals are very important to them and their families but we need to protect the health of parents, school representatives, the volunteer appeals panel members and all those involved in admission appeals. As a result there may be unavoidable delays this year in hearing the appeals. We are constantly monitoring government guidance on how admission appeals can be considered under their published process in the current extraordinary and turbulent circumstances. We shall update parents as soon as we can.

In the meantime, parents should still submit their appeals by the deadline of 30th March. Appeals submitted after this deadline will be heard but probably not within the first batch of appeals, once scheduled.

Please check this website on a regular basis as we continue to review and plan accordingly.

Coronavirus Update

Following the annoucements by the Prime Minister and Education Secretary on Wednesday 18th March, Rushcliffe School will close to the vast majority of pupils from 3.15pm on Friday 20th March.

We will continue to offer supervision for pupils whose parents are 'key workers' or pupils who are considered vulnerable. Information on this has been communicated directly to parents and further updates will be sent out as we have them (including on the awarding of GCSE and A level qualifications).

During the closure period, we will be operating on significantly reduced staffing levels so responding to telephone calls and emails make take longer than ususal. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
